AidBG is a volunteer group dedicated to the care and welfare of the many dogs and cats that live on the streets in the South Varna area of Bulgaria. Through Spaying and Neutering programmes, Public Education and Re-homing, our mission is to ensure that every dog in Bulgaria is eventually given the chance of a life where it is cared for and treated with kindness and understanding to ensure a safe and happy future.
We work as the Varna Branch of Registered Charity BSAPP- Bulgarian Society for Animal Protection and Preservation.

"Animal welfare is defined by both the physical and psychological state of an animal and the conditions in which it lives. The welfare of an animal can be described as good if the individual is fit, healthy and free from suffering.
We assesse the welfare of animals using the Five Freedoms
These represent a useful ‘checklist’ to quickly identify situations which compromise good animal welfare – that is, any situation that causes fear, pain, discomfort, injury, disease or behavioural distress"
