Protecting Bulgaria's Street Animals

Spay / Neuter Program

TNR

The AidBG Spay / Neuter Program was put into effect in response to the number of Stray and Abandoned dogs living in villages to the North of Varna. AidBG have a policy not euthanise an otherwise healthy animal so an alternative had to be found to keep both their numbers down whilst allowing them to live as happy lives as possible.

We decided that the most effective way was to operate a "Trap, Neuter and Return" program. TNR programs have been well researched internationally and have been proved to provide many benefits both to the dogs and to the community.

Once sterilised, given rabies vaccinations, treated for parasites and given an ear tag to show they have been "done" the dogs are then returned to their original locations.

We have a few volunteer "Caregivers" who then continue to feed and care for the dogs, but we are in need of many more. Additionally the costs incurred by these volunteers, for food and other supplies is quite large so we are urgently in need of donations (both financially and practically) to continue our work.

If you feel you can help us to help them, either by volunteering to become a "Caregiver" or by "Donating Food or Finances" then please contact us: - jacquienew1966@aol.com.

We currently operate TNR programs in the following villages: - Dolen Bliznatsi, Priscelsi, Bencovski, Zdravets, Avren. However there are many more dogs in other villages who require our help, your donations will help extend our programs and improve the lives of many dogs.
